PAW PAW, Mich. — A 21-year-old man was taken on a wild ride Wednesday afternoon when the wheelchair he was in became attached to the grille of a semi-truck and was taken four miles down a highway at about 50 mph.

“You are not going to believe this, (but) there is a semi pushing a guy in a wheelchair on Red Arrow Highway,” an unknown caller told the Michigan State Police.

Poor guy! But, this is a classic Daily Hook story for sure!

The Big Lebowski isn’t really coming to New York ok. But, the Big Lebowski Festival does kick off this week. The NY Post reports,

NEW YORK, Dec. 3 The upcoming Lebowski Fest in New York has area fans of The Big Lebowski set to honor the quirky film. While the 1998 film from Joel and Ethan Coen has already spawned a drinking game, a speaking tour and an online church, the festival set to begin Dec. 16 in New York may best represent the off-beat film, the New York Post reported.

I am really unsure how come I did not hear about this, but as usual I’m bringing you some great news (even if it is a day late). The NY Post Reports,

December 4, 2006 — A man was badly burned yesterday when he came into contact with high-voltage wires as he tried to climb on top of a New Jersey Transit train at Penn Station, authorities said.

An Amtrak employee, who quickly called for paramedics, spotted the man.

NJ Transit officials said the man was trespassing on locked-down Track 2 at about 3 a.m.

Police said the train had not been scheduled to depart for about two more hours.

The victim might have been homeless and trying to get inside to sleep, authorities said.

When he couldn’t open the doors, he climbed to the top, they speculated.

He was taken to the burn center at New York-Weill Cornell Hospital suffering from burns covering most of his body.

His name was withheld pending family notification.

How funny is this? Are you serious? I would have bought this guy a train ticket or given him a ride to where he needed to go if he really needed to get somewhere that badly! I mean buddy, save your skin! Neutrogena can’t help you now!

We are very passionate about music and will not stear you wrong! Check the charts for some new tracks and expand and enhance your taste. We often include snippets of tracks in our podcasts. We are debating on adding a whole section about music to the broadcasts. BUT, we’ll see!

Today I tried playing the July 22nd podcast and noticed that it wouldn’t play for me.  I hope you guys didn’t have a problem with that. If you did, no one said anything. But none the less, the problem should be fixed.  Go listen to that show if you haven’t already!!

I’m callin’ out all subscribers to The Daily Hook! Or, visitors for that matter.  In the past week we’ve gone from ZERO subscribers to a weekly high of 12 subscribers, back down to 6 subscribers!  Our subscriber numbers are fluctuating but I’m glad to see that at least a few people are interested in getting updates from this daily, weekly, podcast blog of ours.  But, the gem of this site really is the podcast! So far, we have 64 plays between the two shows!  This is pretty damn good considering The Daily Hook is just over three weeks old! 

However, I’d like to see the subscriber base stay subscribed and comment on our show!! In 4 weeks, we’ve only had 4 comments on the site.  I think I’m going to have to offer some sort of incentive! 

What do you want us to do in order to bribe you?  What do you want to hear about? Do you want us to do a drunken show? Do you want us to give a shout out to you on air?  Do you want us to start doing call-ins? Do you want us to read your AIM messages live on air? Let us know!  Give us feedback!  We want anyone who has somethin’ good to say on our show!
